Hip Hing Engineering Company Limited, the design and build contractor for Kai Tak Sports Park, has won the “Green Management Award – Project Management (Large Corporation) – Gold Award” at the Green Council “Hong Kong Green Awards 2019”. The Award acknowledges the project’s exceptional green management performance.
The Awards Presentation Ceremony was held on 13 December 2019. Mr. Eddie Lam, First Vice-President of Hong Kong Construction Association presented a trophy and a certificate to the representatives of Kai Tak Sports Park project team. Mr. Lam said the awarded companies have not only been promoting excellence in green management, but also propelling the development of a greener and more sustainable city.
Kai Tak Sports Park will showcase a number of energy conservation and sustainable design features, including photovoltaic systems, roof greening, vertical greening and charging facilities for electric vehicles in the parking areas. During the construction stage, the project is adopting new-technology measures including the installation of advanced noise barriers, use of multi-functional dust suppression and road washing trucks, Building Information Modeling System, GPS traffic monitoring and management system for construction and demolition waste, and Integrated Overloading Vehicles Control System. These measures can significantly mitigate the environmental impact on the neighbourhood.
